In addition to Awesome Animals and Mini Me series 2 (37 x 11’) launching in late 2024, Sky Kids have released separately Move Like An Awesome Animal (37 x 2’) – the brand’s exercise and movement section of the format which were shot in 5x beautiful natural environments thanks to Final Pixel.
The multi-camera production is thought to be the first of its kind for a Children’s production and was mentioned explicitly as Sky received a 2024 Net Zero Award. Our Virtual Production studio produced 2.01 tonnes of CO2e compared to 70.9 tonnes we estimated would have been produced had we’d filmed in a'traditional' way.
Jon Hancock, Exec Producer says “It’s been an incredible experience to explore virtual production for this series. We’ve been able to create 5 incredibly diverse and beautiful environments from all over the world for our presenter and children to be filmed in front of. Just the ability to see the background for the performers is really valuable, but to have the photo-real background connected to the camera makes for a much more exciting and believable visual than we could get through any other means that literally taking the contributors to the location – which would be practically and financially impossible.”
